Managing an illness or an injury can be a very stressful time. Know that we have got you covered and are here to support you.

Employees have access up to 7 days (8-hour days) per calendar year to attend to your own illness or injury or meet family responsibilities related to your spouse/partner or eligible dependents.

If you're unable to perform all of your regular job duties for more than 5 consecutive workdays due to a non-work-related illness, disease or injury, you may be eligible for short-term disability benefits. Please submit a short-term disability claim to HumanaCare telephonically 1-877-305-9551. A nurse will walk you through the process.

In the case that you need to take further time off to deal with a personal or family illness or injury, you may be eligible for a personal leave of absence for up to 12 months or for provincially legislated leaves. Please see Leaves of Absence or speak with your Local HR for more information.
