The first step to greater health is awareness of your key numbers and what they mean, at least once a year. With an external partner, SLB provides employees an opportunity to know their numbers through an Employee Biometric Health Screening. During this time, employees can meet with a Registered Nurse who will provide them with an assessment of their health indicators to include:
- Blood Pressure
- Total Cholesterol
- HDL Cholesterol
- TC:HDL Ratio
- 10 Year Cardiovascular Risk
- A1C
- Height, Weight, BMI
- Waist Circumference
- Mental Health Questionnaire
Knowing and understanding these metrics is the first step in reducing your risk for heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity. Together, these conditions cause over one third of Canadian deaths every year.
The biometrics are completely voluntary and at no cost to the employee. Although SLB will get aggregate reporting on employee biometrics, individual biometric results are confidential and only shared by the nurse with the employee.
