You have four different dental care options to choose from. Note that Option 3 has a two-year lock-in period. This means you are unable to change this coverage for two years. Maximums shown are for each covered person each year. * A dental care fee guide contains a summary of suggested charges for all dental services, set annually by provincial dental associations and used by Sun Life to determine the reasonable and customary charge for a service.
When choosing your dental plan coverage, keep in mind what the different services include:
- Basic Dental care Services – Includes services such as routine oral exams, cleaning, x-rays, tooth extractions, fillings, oral surgery and root canals. Sealants are also covered, but only for dependent children 18 years old and under.
- Major Dental care Services – Includes major restorative procedures such as dentures, crowns and bridgework.
Sun Life is our health and dental care provider and you should submit your claims by following these steps:
- If you haven’t already, register on the Sun Life website.
- Sign up for direct deposit.
- Download the Sun Life mobile app on your smartphone.
- Submit your claims – online, on your phone or by mail.
