If you're absent from work or on modified/light duties due to a non-work-related injury, illness or disease for more than five consecutive workdays you should submit a Short-Term Disability claim. For further details please see the Canada Short Term Disability Benefit Policy.
Please contact the HumanaCare Intake Center at 1-877-305-9551 to report a disability claim telephonically. A HumanaCare nurse will walk you through the process. Details are available in the SLB Canada Disability Intake Brochure.
You can, but only those that you direct to your Personal Spending Account. By paying for your long-term disability (LTD) coverage through your Personal Spending Account or with payroll deductions, you are ensuring that any LTD benefits you receive will be tax-free. Remember that any LTD benefit you may receive will be between 50% and 65% of your earnings. For more information please refer to the long-term disability section in the SLB Extended Health Wellness Benefits Policy 2024.
SLB wants to ensure that every employee has a degree of protection from financial adversity. This is the reason why SLB has made long-term disability a mandatory benefit. While few of us expect to be disabled, nobody knows whether we would get disabled through illness or injury at one point in our lives.
