Grieving a Death
Experiencing the death of a loved one can be a difficult time. When you lose a loved one, you have plenty of support and resources to access for assistance from SLB. If you are the dependent and/or beneficiary of a deceased SLB employee, please immediately contact your Local HR or the SLB Canada Benefits Centre toll-free at 1-866-557-5222 from Monday to Friday between 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Mountain Time).
In the case of the death of an employee:
- Extended Health Care, Dental Care, and Vision coverage will continue for 24 months for listed eligible dependents.
- Your beneficiary may be entitled to your Retirement and Savings Plan account balance(s).
- Sun Life will pay the full amount of your Life and Optional Life (if applicable) insurance benefit to your beneficiary on file.
- If your death was an accident, Industrial Alliance will pay the full amount of your AD&D and Optional AD&D (if applicable) insurance benefit to your listed beneficiary on file.
Grief support is available through the Employee Assistance Program. If you have experienced the death of someone close to you, TELUS Health has multiple resources available.
